Halloween is always a magical childhood holiday and it gives adults the opportunity to be as silly as kids. I stopped trick-or-treating after the sixth grade, I think because I had a very keen sense of my own dignity, and I regret that sometimes. It's only as I've gotten older that I've learned to be silly. But anyway, I still enjoy handing out candy to the adorable little kids and bright-eyed tweens still having a great time out there. The past couple of years I've helped a neighbor because they have a popcorn machine and have been giving out little cardboard boxes of popcorn for more than thirty years. Their house is legendary and even the adults remember coming as kids to get popcorn. Last year we counted the boxes we gave out and there were over 400 kids. 400. So needless to say they need a little help handing out popcorn and cider. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Halloween and getting ready for NaNoWriMo to start!
